1. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website or use a web application. They help the site remember information about your visit — such as whether you are logged in — so you do not have to re-enter details on every page.

Similar technologies such as local storage and session storage work in a comparable way and are covered by this policy.

2. How We Use Cookies

We use cookies strictly to make SharkAlytics work. Specifically:

• Authentication sessions — to keep you logged in while you use the app.
• Security tokens — to protect your account from unauthorized access.
• Preference storage — to remember settings such as dark mode on your device (stored locally, never sent to our servers).

We do not use cookies for advertising, behavioural profiling, or cross-site tracking.

4. Third-Party Cookies

SharkAlytics integrates with the following third-party services that may set their own cookies or tokens when you interact with them:

• Stripe — used for payment processing when you subscribe to a paid plan. Stripe may set cookies on their payment pages to prevent fraud. See Stripe's Cookie Policy.
• Google Sign In — if you choose "Continue with Google," Google's OAuth service processes your sign-in. See Google's Cookie Policy.
• Apple Sign In — if you choose "Sign in with Apple," Apple's authentication service handles your sign-in. Apple's policies apply to that interaction.

We do not control third-party cookies and recommend reviewing each provider's policy for details.

5. Cookies in Our Native iOS App

The SharkAlytics iOS app (available on the App Store) does not use browser cookies. Instead, it uses a secure bearer token stored in the device's local storage within the app's sandboxed environment. This token is used solely to authenticate your requests to our servers and is deleted when you log out.

6. Your Choices

Because we only use essential cookies, disabling them will prevent SharkAlytics from working correctly — you would not be able to stay logged in. You can manage cookies through your browser settings:

• Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data
• Safari: Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data
• Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
• Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions

Clearing cookies will log you out of SharkAlytics. You can log back in at any time.

7. Do Not Track

Some browsers send a "Do Not Track" (DNT) signal. Because we do not engage in cross-site tracking, enabling DNT has no additional effect on how SharkAlytics operates — we treat all users the same regardless of this setting.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of SharkAlytics after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
